Luka Rijeka sought to optimize container management, improve transparency, and enhance communication with truck drivers and shippers. Before the implementation of Hexis' software, Luka Rijeka faced several challenges in container management:

  4. Limited Overview of Terminal: There was a need for a comprehensive overview of the container storage area to identify available storage spots, differentiate between regular and refrigerated containers, and streamline operations.

Solution

Hexis developed a comprehensive software solution for Luka Rijeka to address these challenges. The software offers the following features:

  1. Container Management: The software allows users to manage empty containers efficiently. Shipping companies can book and reserve containers, and the system provides real-time information on container locations within the terminal.
  2. Work Order Management: Work orders are seamlessly integrated into the system. Each driver can have multiple work orders, all of which can be managed and viewed through the user-friendly app. Work orders include essential information such as Shipper code, container numbers, and container location coordinates within the terminal.
  3. Damage Reporting: Users can easily report damage to containers by simply clicking and marking up the container outlines in 3D perspective  through the web software, eliminating the need for manual paperwork and improving accuracy in recording damage.
  4. 3D Raster: The 3D roster feature offers a top view of the terminal, displaying available storage spots, and container classifications (regular or refrigerated) , offering high-level planning. It also provides a side view of each row, classifying containers based on type and displaying the Shipper code for easy identification, allowing precise insight and control over every container.

The implementation of Hexis' software has brought several benefits to Luka Rijeka:

  1. Enhanced Efficiency: Real-time tracking of containers and a comprehensive overview of the terminal have improved container management, reduced operational bottlenecks and enhanced throughput.
