Client Overview

IOM-CRISP is a collaborative initiative between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), blending the rich history and expertise of these two global entities. IOM, established in 1951, has been a pioneering force in addressing migration challenges, working closely with governments and partners worldwide.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, carries a distinguished legacy of protecting refugees and displaced communities, advocating for their rights on a global scale. Challenges

Establishing and implementing resettlement programs in countries poses significant challenges. Accessing relevant information on the process and finding the right contacts for assistance can be a daunting task. Some of the challenges we came across during brainstorming were the following:

  1. Difficulty in initiating and implementing resettlement programs globally.
  2. Lack of centralized information on the resettlement process.

Solution

Hexis, in collaboration with IOM and UNHCR, developed a user-friendly platform to streamline resettlement efforts by taking the following steps:

  1. Creation of a go-to platform for all actors involved in the resettlement process.
  2. Inclusion of experiences, tools, reference points, and research related to resettlement and complementary pathways.

Outcome

The platform caters to a diverse audience, including government officials, practitioners, service providers, receiving communities, partners, donors, IOM, and UNHCR staff, and it helps in the following ways:

  1. Direct engagement of participants based on their roles in the resettlement process.
  2. Formation of a network of experts, fostering a culture of mutual learning.
  3. Advocacy for increased resettlement and complementary pathway opportunities.

IOM-CRISP has successfully established a state-of-the-art global platform, leveraging Hexis's network of programming experts. In this crucial time for resettlement, the initiative takes a significant step toward a better future for thousands of refugees, offering a clear call to action and contributing to a more efficient and accessible resettlement process worldwide.
